Abstract

The influence of the conditions of oxygen-alkali treatment on pulp strength properties is investigated. It is established that toughening of oxygen-alkali treatment conditions of softwood sulphate pulp has no negative impact on the breaking length value and strength index under tension but results in considerable reduction of tear resistance; addition of disperser at the stage of oxygen-alkali treatment increases the breaking strength.
